Mother Of Mine

A heartfelt tribute to a beloved mother - celebrating her grace, spirit and unconditional love. Free and at peace to drive the coast, sing with Elvis and dance without a care. Thank you, dear Mother of Mine.

I wrote this song as a way to gently prepare my heart for my mother's passing - a tribute to her love, grace and spirit. I know that not everyone has had the gift of a mother's love and for some, this kind of loss carries a different weight. My hope is that this song offers a moment of peace, reflection or healing - whatever your story may be. The beautiful piano parts and all the instrumentation was created and recorded by my Producer, Andrew Smith. I must add that my mother is still very much alive and she loves this song! If you feel so inclined, please share.

The Real World

“The Real World” is a song about finding beauty in everyday moments - morning birdsong, afternoon light and quiet evenings in the garden. A reminder that the real world is right here, if we only stop to notice it. Huge thanks to John & Jude for the coffee, the backyard and the warm hospitality and to John, for letting me sing your beautiful song! I'm grateful to Andrew Smith for your musical brilliance and for being such a fantastic co-creator.

'In The Making'

We had a great time filming this video for my new song, 'In The Making', at the Vernon Airport in a beautiful, warm and brightly lit hangar early December 2024, with the sleek newly built air-plane, Ms. Destini beside us. Many thanks to the wonderful folks of the Vernon Flying Club (Don & Dianne Usher and Keith & Pauline Readner) for accommodating us and for their support and enthusiasm!

It was a real pleasure to work with Keith & Dianne Hustler from KDH Music Media. Their professionalism, organization and efficient way of working really made us feel at ease when they shot the video. Their approach is to capture the artist/group playing naturally with an organic sound. Now I've never played music in a hangar before but... maybe it'll become a thing!

Featured here with me are Hugh Spinney on lead guitar and vocals and Andrew Smith on bass and vocals.  I had my 'wing-men' on either side and I am most grateful for their incredible talent.

One of the other highlights of creating this video, was during pre-production, when myself and videographer, Keith Hustler went up in Pilot Darcy Macphee's plane to capture some aerial footage of this beautiful valley and beyond. I'm hoping it provides a little context for the song. Photos taken by Dianne Hustler (KDH Music Media), Ken Dickson and Pauline Readner.
