Lyrics
The Real World (Lent, Fraser, Wall, Album - Shadow Moon 2005)
In the morning when the birds rise up, their song becomes the world
My feet move down through the house, the day starts to unfurl
I get the coffee going, wake you with a smile
And we sit talking for awhile
Ah the lazy noon comes sliding, with the sun across the lawn
The heat is full like honey; the shade is deep and long
And the water whirls its circus, it goes round and round and round
And we stand grinning on the ground
I know this is the real world, we dream it all the time
I know this is the real world, we cannot seem to find
Why do we turn our backs on it, as if it isn’t there
When we’re standing all around it in the air
In the evening when the sun slips through, the edges of these hills
And all the night sounds chatter, the street becomes so still
We walk out in our garden, just to see what we have grown
And whisper beneath the quarter moon
